Traditional Turkish Archery

Master the biomechanics and elite craftsmanship of Ottoman flight weaponry—engineered for unmatched velocity and distance.

The Imperial Craft Lineage

Within the Ottoman Empire, traditional archery (Okçuluk) was elevated to an art form overseen by specialized guilds. Archers (Kemânkeş) trained in dedicated plazas (Okymeydanı) under strict vows of mental clarity and physical conditioning.

The bow was considered a highly sacred object, bridging military capability with deep mystical paths of focus and absolute breath control.

The Ottoman Composite Bow

The highly specialized Turkish short bow stands as the pinnacle of historical composite engineering. Constructed meticulously over a period of 12–18 months, master bowyers layered maple wood core frames with animal horn strips on the belly and raw sinew fibers along the back.

The radical reflex geometry forces extreme energy translation, launching flight arrows at incredible speeds from an ultra-compact framework.

The Science of Flight Archery

Flight archery focused exclusively on achieving maximum distance. Ottoman records show historic shots transcending an astonishing 800 meters, achieved using unique mechanical accessories.

The Siper

A molded guide bound to the bow hand, allowing the archer to draw ultra-short, lightweight flight arrows past the physical front back of the bow frame for maximum speed.

The Zihgir (Thumb Ring)

Crafted from polished jade, ivory, or silver, this specialized thumb ring secures the fast release string without friction, protecting the thumb leather.
