EUROPEAN PERFORMANCE FRAMEWORK FOR TRADITIONAL ARCHERY
A traditional archery academy focused on structured training, cultural study, and expeditions exploring historic archery traditions.
What This Project Is
This project is a traditional archery academy dedicated to studying and practicing historical archery traditions. Training combines technical practice, cultural knowledge, and field experience in real landscapes. Traditional Archery • Steppe & Mountain Expeditions

THE INSTITUTE
INSTITUTE STANDARDS
Traditional Archery Academy is dedicated to structured Mediterranean instinctive archery. We do not promote trends. We preserve continuity. Our work stands on three pillars:

Discipline
Structured progression over casual shooting. Measurable standards and rigorous breath control.

Craftsmanship
Instruments of precision. We curate and utilize only historically accurate, high-performance bows.

Cultural Memory
Maintaining the dialogue between Central European traditions and living Asian archery cultures.
2026 EXPEDITIONS
Transcend the training grounds. Our expeditions are not tours; they are structural immersions into the world’s most demanding environments to test the limits of human and mechanical discipline.
KG2026: World Nomad Games Witness Expedition
- Elite Observation: Witness the mechanics of traditional mounted archery on a global stage.
- Cultural Immersion: Direct engagement with master bowyers and nomadic traditions in the high pastures.
- Structured Exchange: A guided, ethnographic approach to the world's premier nomadic sports event.
The Nomadic Base
- Dynamic Adaptation: Transition from static mechanics to the raw, unmanaged reality of the open steppe.
- Technical Immersion: Deep technical refinement in horseback archery and the Asiatic draw.
- Historical Integrity: Direct engagement with the cultural and functional origins of nomadic heritage.
Signature Bows
The Signature Series represents the pinnacle of our engineering, where celestial inspiration meets raw performance. This duo defines the dual mastery of the modern archer: the Aurelion for expansive horizontal reach, and the Silverion for uncompromising vertical alignment and stability.
Aurelion – The Solar Bow of Expansion
- Steppe-Optimized: Balanced specifically for high-wind stability and long-range accuracy in open terrain.
- Horizontal Mastery: Advanced limb geometry allows for a more forgiving lateral sweep and effortless draw.
- Solar Construction: Built with high-tensile composites that maximize energy storage and release.
- Flagship Durability: A rugged, weather-resistant build designed to withstand the harshest environmental shifts.
Silverion – The Celestial Bow of Alignment
- Celestial Alignment: Engineered with a specialized riser geometry that self-corrects vertical tilt for a truer flight path.
- Skeletal Stability: Designed to integrate with the archer’s natural biomechanics, reducing muscle fatigue during extended holds.
- Load-Bearing Performance: Features reinforced dampening systems to maintain a steady aim under harsh, shifting winds.
- Precision Calibration: Every Silverion is tuned for high-tension consistency, ensuring reliable accuracy in extreme conditions.
Digital theory is verified in the field. Documentation precedes designation.
The Academy operates on a strict certification ladder. Theory is delivered digitally. Standards are validated live. Every certification requires documented proof of performance. Expeditions are the final audit.
ARCHERY GAMES
Current active historical competition specifications for the 2026 cycle.
Grand Moravia
Focus: Woodland field archery within dense temperate forests. Simulation of historical tactical movement and rapid target identification in complex visual environments.
The Steppe Summit
Focus: Extreme long-distance precision and wind management. Testing the ballistic capabilities of historical composite horn bows across open vistas.
The Winter Vanguard
Focus: Sub-zero resilience and biological endurance. Archers must maintain motor control and accuracy under extreme cold stress and uneven terrain.
THE 145m BENCHMARK
Every serious path begins close. At five meters stands the Super Point no larger than a coin. Three arrows. No excuses. Only when consistency becomes natural do we step back. Distance is not conquered. It is earned. The ultimate standard is the 145m World Nomad Games distance.
- Precision over spectacle.
- Stability over speed.
- Structure precedes distance.
This is not entertainment. It is practice.
Head Instructor
Jan Franko
Training and expeditions are led by Jan Franko, founder of the academy.
The academy is led by an instructor with decades of experience in traditional archery. Practical teaching extends back to the year 2000. This dual focus on physical biomechanics and mental stillness ensures practitioners build instinct through rigorous, measurable structure
The arrow does not seek the target, it simply finds its way when the mind is no longer in the way. Discipline is not a restriction, but the architecture of freedom.
