THE INSTITUTE

INSTITUTE STANDARDS

Traditional Archery Academy is dedicated to structured Mediterranean instinctive archery. We do not promote trends. We preserve continuity. Our work stands on three pillars:

Discipline

Structured progression over casual shooting. Measurable standards and rigorous breath control.

Craftsmanship

Instruments of precision. We curate and utilize only historically accurate, high-performance bows.

Cultural Memory

Maintaining the dialogue between Central European traditions and living Asian archery cultures.

2026 EXPEDITIONS

Transcend the training grounds. Our expeditions are not tours; they are structural immersions into the world’s most demanding environments to test the limits of human and mechanical discipline.

The Nomadic Base

Signature Bows

The Signature Series represents the pinnacle of our engineering, where celestial inspiration meets raw performance. This duo defines the dual mastery of the modern archer: the Aurelion for expansive horizontal reach, and the Silverion for uncompromising vertical alignment and stability.

Aurelion – The Solar Bow of Expansion

Silverion – The Celestial Bow of Alignment

Digital theory is verified in the field. Documentation precedes designation.

The Academy operates on a strict certification ladder. Theory is delivered digitally. Standards are validated live. Every certification requires documented proof of performance. Expeditions are the final audit.

ARCHERY GAMES

Current active historical competition specifications for the 2026 cycle.

Grand Moravia

Focus: Woodland field archery within dense temperate forests. Simulation of historical tactical movement and rapid target identification in complex visual environments.

The Steppe Summit

Focus: Extreme long-distance precision and wind management. Testing the ballistic capabilities of historical composite horn bows across open vistas.

The Winter Vanguard

Focus: Sub-zero resilience and biological endurance. Archers must maintain motor control and accuracy under extreme cold stress and uneven terrain.

THE 145m BENCHMARK

Every serious path begins close. At five meters stands the Super Point no larger than a coin. Three arrows. No excuses. Only when consistency becomes natural do we step back. Distance is not conquered. It is earned. The ultimate standard is the 145m World Nomad Games distance.

This is not entertainment. It is practice.

CULTURAL HERITAGE

Every arrow carries the weight of history. Before drawing the bow, we must understand the hands that shaped it. From the nomadic steppes to the anvils of traditional blacksmiths. Legacy is not simply remembered. It is lived. The ultimate foundation of our practice is the preservation of cultural memory.

This is not history. It is a living legacy.

NOMADIC CIVILIZATIONS

True freedom requires profound discipline. Beyond the borders drawn by maps lies a legacy of perpetual motion. The steppe was never empty; it was a vast network of survival and deep connection to the earth. To master the bow, we must first understand the riders who carried it. The ultimate foundation is the enduring wisdom of the world’s nomadic wanderers.

This is not wandering. It is a way of life.

EMPIRE OF HORIZONS

Strength is forged in the open wild. Underneath the Eternal Blue Sky lies a landscape where the horizon knows no limits, and the ancient spirit of the Mongol Empire still echoes. From the master horsemanship of the steppes to the breathtaking bond of the Berkutchi eagle hunters, our training traces the absolute roots of traditional Asiatic archery. To master the bow here is to conquer both the terrain and the self.

This is not just an expedition. It is an awakening.

THE KINGDOM OF COURTESY

Every profound tradition is built on a foundation of respect. In the Ryukyu archipelago, courtesy is not merely a gesture; it is the kingdom’s enduring strength. Here, the historical cradle of Karate and the ancient discipline of Ryukyu Kyudo merge seamlessly with life-extending culinary traditions and a deep reverence for the island ecosystem. Mastery is not just found in the physical draw of the bow, but in the harmony of a life well-lived.

This is not just martial arts. It is a philosophy of living.

Head Instructor

Jan Franko

Training and expeditions are led by Jan Franko, founder of the academy.

The academy is led by an instructor with decades of experience in traditional archery. Practical teaching extends back to the year 2000. This dual focus on physical biomechanics and mental stillness ensures practitioners build instinct through rigorous, measurable structure

The arrow does not seek the target, it simply finds its way when the mind is no longer in the way. Discipline is not a restriction, but the architecture of freedom.

— Jan Franko
