The Lineage of the Bow

Made from carefully selected yew, the warbow takes advantage of both heartwood and sapwood — the heartwood resisting compression on the belly, the sapwood storing tension on the back. This combination allows the bow to store and release energy that few other materials can match.

The longer waiting time for Yew Warbows is required because yew wood must mature naturally and only carefully selected pieces with the correct grain structure are suitable. Each warbow is built with the same patience that its historical counterparts demanded from the archers who wielded them.
